Oneness

ONENESS

Soho House, los angeles, ca 2019

My work draws on metaphors, natural phenomena, and spirituality. Black, to me, is a grounding color and has textures when I close my eyes and focus on other senses. These patterns are distilled sensory experiences sculpted into forms, a series that originated from a quiet place in my mind and centers on oneness. The works are from the Jyaku series.

Medium: Resin

A site-specific installation consists of 64 mirrored Daruma tiles positioned above a stairwell to invite viewers to self-reflection. Darumas are traditional Japanese talismans that represent perseverance and good fortune.
